Wesley B. Wieman, D.D.S.

When Dr. Wieman, known by most patients and their families as Dr. Wes, purchased an existing pediatric dental practice in Eureka, California he could not have imagined the exciting adventure that was in store for him in this beautiful small Northern California coastal town!  Prior to moving to Eureka, Dr. Wes practiced Pediatric Dentistry in Southern California for 10 years which helped mold his goals for his own practice.  His greatest desire has always been to help kids of all ages grow up with healthy smiles and a lack of fear for their dental visits.  In addition, he also wants to have fun too! His wonderful staff is well trained to assist him in achieving these goals as shown by the tremendous growth in our practice over the last 25 years!

Dr. Wes received all of his degrees from the University of Southern California (GO TROJANS!!) including a specialty certificate to practice as a Pediatric Dentist. This 10 year process included a staff position at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital caring for the dental health of special needs kids. He continues serving a wide range of special patient needs as he has been on staff at St. Joseph's Hospital since 1984 allowing those patients requiring general anesthesia a safe out-patient experience.

Dr. Wes and his wife, Jan, were married on June 3, 1978 in Pasadena, California.  Their boys, Andrew and Daniel were 4 and 1 years of age upon arriving in Eureka.  Raising their children brought about great community involvement and a true sense of investing in the lives of the children in Humboldt & Del Norte Counties through the dental office by underwriting Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood on our local Public TV station for 25 years!  Since this original sponsorship, our office has added Clifford the Big Red Dog underwriting on KEET, sponsored numerous sports teams and various individual patient endeavors and high school activities.  Many have benefited from Triumphant Life Camp Platinum sponsorship and the Peter Cottontail & Friends Easter celebration silver bunny sponsorship.

Most recently our office participated in “The Perilous Plunge”, a community fundraising event for the Discovery Museum.  Dr. Wieman sponsored the VIP Tent where the plungers could get warm in the hot tub, change into warm dry clothes, and enjoy a delicious lunch.  The VIP Tent was greatly appreciated by two staff members dressed as teeth along with one of the girl’s fiancés’ (the tooth fairy) after taking the plunge into the cold salt water of Humboldt Bay!

In addition, Dr. Wieman has been active in the local dental society having held several board positions including president of the Humboldt Del Norte Dental Society.  He is a member of Grace Baptist Church having served as Deacon, AWANA Commander & Sparks Director, adult Sunday School Teacher and Bible Study facilitator.  Dr. Wes enjoys fishing; fly tying, golf, bridge, guitar and word jumbles.  He loves the beautiful area where he lives and the opportunity to serve and support our most precious resource, children.
